Everyday Chocolate Cake

So last night I decided that it was time I got back in the kitchen to bake something, so after a little bit of googling I found a nice recipe on a food blog (http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2010/08/everyday-chocolate-cake/) for a decent chocolate loaf cake. I was going to bake it in the late hours of night, but I decided to wait instead for morning. I followed the recipe to a T except since I didn’t have unsalted butter I just didn’t add the 1/4 tsp. of salt like the recipe says to. My end result of all my mixing looked liked whipped chocolate frosting, it was very light and absolutely perfect, all I had left to do was bake it. I put my loaf pan in my preheated oven and when I looked back at the recipe to see how long I would have to set the timer I saw that cooking time was 60-70 min. Damn, what was I going to do for an hour. Oh, I know, let’s watch reruns of Fringe episodes on my [mom’s] laptop. So after 55 minutes my chocolate cake was done, and god was it beautiful, with just a little sprinkle of powder sugar it was done and ready to eat.
